Project 3 - Physical Object

As my images were on daily expenditure and especially mony spent on food items so i thought of making a visual receipt for my physical object for this project. Through this its actually alot easier to go through the receipt to quickly have a look on what items you spent money on.

Final Proposal

For third project I was really confused about the idea. But after attending the lectures and looking through Data Visualisation photographs, I quite liked the photo in which a person has shown the food stuff and data on daily consumption of food. Thinking of this image I thought of doing something similar. I came up with idea of making data Visualisation photographs of daily expenditure of money on different things like:- on travelling, stationery, food and etc. So I kept a log of all the expenditure I did and receipts for a week. Then I laid the train ticket, bus ticket, food (grocery), including receipts. Then photographed all the receipts, food and other things, showing information data through that. I photographed the whole week’s expenditure. I choose this idea because I never keep record of my expenditures and later on always forget where I spent the money so this idea, for this project will let me know the daily expenditures and rare expenditure a person (I) make.

For my second photoshoot i took photos of receipts I had. I had receipts from shoes i purchased, super-market's and from Photo warehouse. Also i needed to take photos of receipts for expenditures on transport so i took photos of my snapper card and train's trip pass. i just need to ly them all together and then take photos.

 

Photoshoot 1

For my first photoshoot i took photos of different food items which are commonly daily use. I took pictures separetely and would combine them together later on. I think the items if laid out together and then photographed will ome out different as compared to these individual ones.

I am thinking of doing it for one day then week. I chose this idea because never keep record if my expenditures and later on always forget where I spent the money so this idea for this project will let me know the daily expenditures and rare expenditure a person make.

Physical hand in

My Physical hand in for project 2 is a paper-bag. I choose paper bag because as my images were of nature like trees, bushes & plants. So I photoshoped the images by darkening the colors and highlighting the trees and plants. I printed the original images on one brown paper sheet and then the remediated photoshoped images on another brown paper. I got both images printed because I wanted to show that how much you can change the images and make them more effective. I then made a hand-made paper bag as hand made adds more meaningful values to it. I also attached a handle of ribbon of blue color giving it more attractive look.  All these images are choosen good ones from the last photoshoot and which i am thinking of using as final images for this project. I have darken and outlined the trees and plants in the images but they aren't visible that much.

In this image it's actually overlaying of three images that came out really cool and in this one i have highlighted the plants and trees with green color.

 In this one there are two images both joined together. i quite liked this image as these two images are totally different and were taken different but came out nice as look like one picture.

I really like this picture on the left side but it didn't came out that good. The picture quality and colors didn't came out as i accepted.



 I liked this image because it's different and i have no idea what it is and what i was trying to do. This photo came out accidently itself. i can't remember what i did but look cool.



Final Photoshoot (Fourth film)

This is the fourth film and last photoshoot for this project. The photos in this shoot came pout really good as compared to the first three films photoshoot i did. I am going to use some good images from this and then darken and outline the trees and plants in it and them get that printed on paper bag as now need to develop my physical object.

Final Proposal

As I decided to take photos of nature (trees, plants etc) for this project, but in first three films the photos didn't came out that good. They were either under exposed or over exposed. The fourth film photos came out quite nice. So i decided to take photos of greenary of trees and plants. To relate this with some physical object i choose paper bag as paper is made by cutting down the trees and to remind people that by wasting paper they are destroying the nature. To do this i am going to darken and outline the trees & plants in the photos and get them printed on paper bag, to show a link between nature and the material that we use, like paper and how for our needs, we destroying the nature.
Firstly i thought of using a plastic bag with the photos in which trees and plants will be shown burnt as representing that plastic bags are destroying (burning) away the nature. but that doesn't make that strong link between photos and physical object so now i am going to use paper bag.

This is the photo of the salamanca road in kelburn. this is the only photo from my three films that is some what clearly visible.

I quite liked this photo but i am quite not sure what i was trying to do. This is just photographs trees and i don't know what happened to it but came out pretty  cool.
